Genmaicha - 100g
Genmaicha is a popular Japanese tea made by blending green tea leaves with roasted rice. Good for sipping at any time, and especially with meals.
Gokujo Genmaicha is Ippodo’s blend of genmaicha—green tea mixed with roasted rice. It has a perfect balance of pleasant roasted rice aroma and classic green tea astringency.
One of the more popular banchas, genmaicha is a mixture of yanagi (large plain green tea leaves) and roasted rice. The rice is roasted at two different levels: lightly roasted and deeply roasted until the rice grains puff. The result is a unique savory flavor and a strong popcorn-like aroma. The quantity of rice is purposely kept to a minimum while there is an ample amount of leaves with a light bitterness. This provides a perfect balance between the roasted aroma and the refreshing aftertaste of the yanagi.
Genmaicha goes well with meals and is tasty as an everyday tea.

This tea arrived to my house very promptly! I was very impressed by the order-to-door time. The Genmaicha is amazing. It's my favourite type of green tea, and this particular ippodo stuff really hits the spot. Does. Not. Disappoint.
I also got the Hojicha -- also so delicious!
so flavorful and calming with lovely yellow green color
The genmaicha, with a unique aroma and flavor, is the perfect match to a Kyoro breakfast. It's not a sophisticated flavor, but definitely brings back memories of Japan every time I drink it. Low in caffeine and helpful digestive tea.
I know when I buy from Ippodo I will not be disappointed. This is among the best genmaicha I've ever had - fresh and light with a perfect balance of bitter green with toasty rice. I particularly enjoy brewing a pot around lunchtime and enjoying it throughout the afternoon.
Gokujo Genmaicha is something I didn't know existed much less tried, but the idea of toasted rice with green tea was intriguing. I love its warm umami flavor and also that it's a hotter tea (212F) for warmth on those very chilly Spring mornings.
