A harmonious blend of sweetness, bitterness, richness, astringency, and fragrance-this is sencha. It's easy to understand why this balanced beverage is the most popular tea in Japan. In the morning or afternoon, before or after a meal, sencha is the perfect drink to revitalize your mind and refresh your spirits.
Made from sencha mecha (shoots and buds) and konacha (flakes), our Sencha One Cup Teabags will brew a lighter-bodied tea than the loose leaf versions. Packaged in a wide pyramid-shape sachet, the tea leaves have a lot of space to expand. The result is a simple and authentic cup of Japanese tea every time.
How to brew
Add one sencha teabag to a cup, pour on hot water*, and wait for 1.5 minutes. Move the teabag around in the cup until the tea has reached the desired strength, and you're done. *Use less-than-boiling temperature water to enjoy a well-balanced brew.
This 12-bag box, which includes instructions on the back in both English and Japanese, will provide plenty of delicious tea for your enjoyment at home or at work.

Easy way to enjoy Sencha tea. Great hot or iced. I like to steep overnight in the fridge with a mint herbal tea.
I usually only drink the loose tea version from ippodo but decided to get these for the times when I can’t do a small tea pot (or haven’t cleaned it). They taste great, and I was able to get up to 3 steeps in a small cup. Next I’ll have to try the pitcher sized ones.
