Seiun - 40g
Seiun places firmly in our rich category. Its lingering finish and full umami character make it a wise choice for fans of a reflective, satisfying matcha teatime.
Koicha: 4 g (2 tsp.)
Seiun is a fine choice for those who enjoy matcha with plentiful umami and sweetness, balanced by a little astringency. It has a medium body, with a round aftertaste and a pleasantly sweet aroma. As koicha, this matcha’s nuances are much more prominent, and you can fully appreciate its balance of umami, astringency, and fragrance. As usucha, Seiun is good option for everyday teatime, served straight and with cookies, cakes, or other sweets. In a matcha latte, its mild astringency pairs well with the milk, producing a softer drink with more umami than our lighter blends.
Ways to Prepare
This product is the best matcha I have tried to date! Smooth flavor and no bitterness. Worth purchasing!
A tea with amazing delicate sweetness that gives you mental clarity and calmness. Definitely tops drinking coffee!
Like this one the best over more expensive varieties.smooth flavor
Unlike the Seiun of the past, over 50 years, this tea was dark, murky tasting, woody not leafy, disappointing. not worth the price.
I ordered the tea because I received a gift card, and did not really expect anything but matcha. However, I have been mesmerized by its rich flavor. First-class tea contains a subtle flavor, like soup stock used for Japanese cuisine. I enjoy the tea not only for drinking but sprinkling over vanilla ice cream to convert it to matcha ice cream. Yum!
