Wakaki is our lightest and most crisp matcha blend: Its taste is airy, green, and short, with snappy astringency. For absolute beginners, balance its fresh, eye-opening bite by combining it with milk and sweetener as you prefer. Or, prepare it plain with just water, and serve with dessert or sweet fruits like bananas.
The easiest way to try three representative types of Japanese green tea: Gyokuro, Sencha, and Hojicha.
Each teabag includes high quality tea buds and flakes that are sorted out when processing loose leaf tea.
Sencha
The most popular tea variety in Japan. Sencha brews a harmonious balance of umami,
sweetness, bitterness, and astringency, with a bright fragrance like a sunny field.
Gyokuro
Grown under the shade (just like matcha), gyokuro is a green tea that has a smooth flavor
like drops of dew. Given its low astringency, gyokuro is a favorite for newcomers.
Hojicha
This green tea has been roasted until it takes on an amber color and an amazing toasty
fragrance. Fans of the smells of coffee, roasting peanuts, and cookies in the oven will do
well to give hojicha a try.
