Sweetened Matcha

An original Ippodo creation developed in 1935, Uji-Shimizu is a matcha-based instant powder. It’s a blend of matcha and sugar that’s easy-to-prepare, easy-to-drink, and delicious either hot or cold. We recommend it especially for those who prefer their matcha sweet.

Method

Add about 1.5 tbsp. of Uji-Shimizu in a cup or mug. Add hot or cold water, or milk, and mix until dissolved. For a stronger or lighter taste, adjust the amount of water or milk used. You can also stir Uji-Shimizu in with yogurt and use it as a matcha-flavored sweetener for other recipes.

A quick and easy recipe for our sweetened matcha blend to enjoy at any time, in any place.

1. Measure

15g / 0.53 oz

1.5 level tablespoon or an individual stick.

2. Add to water or milk

150 mL (5.3 oz)

Hot or cold

Adjust amount for preference.

3. Stir

Best sweet matcha

The Uji-Shimizu tastes amazing with water or milk and even if you are baking pancakes or cake you can use it as well. The sweet is very balanced. I've tried other brands and this one is my #1

SO good!

I've had these before from other vendors but these individual packets of matcha and a little sweetness are perfect. These hot mornings in the summer, I'm starting my day with a packet and almond milk, whisking it, then ice. Its perfect! I'm so glad I found you. I'll be ordering more :-)

Discovered in Japan. Thrilled to Find in the U.S.

We just got back from a wonderful trip to Japan, where our hotel had the Ippodo Tea Uji Shimizu available in the lounge. We immediately fell in love with it. We made both hot or cold, with milk, and couldn’t get enough. On our final day, I pilfered a few extra packets, thinking that we would never get to have it again. We were overjoyed to find that Ippodo sells it here in the U.S.! It is the same as we had in Japan, and it is sold in a larger container, so you can tailor the amount of tea to your exact taste. We could not be happier. It is a sweetened matcha powder, so take that into account. For us, it is perfect.

Sugar with some matcha
