Hatsu is the lightest character blend in our regular matcha lineup. Its taste is highlighted by astringency and a short aftertaste, and it has a refreshingly sharp personality when prepared straight as usucha. With a soft green color, it can also be a smart choice for people who enjoy using matcha in baking or in making lattes.
Ways to Prepare
Combine matcha's natural sweetness and crisp green bite with the creamy texture of milk.
Prepare matcha with hot water and cool it rapidly with plenty of ice.
An iced latte is smooth, refreshing, and easy-to-drink.

This matcha is so good! Very inexpensive, but I think it’s my favorite so far. Tastes amazing in lattes.

It is okay.
The matcha is high quality, but it is nothing that I enjoy. Even as a latte, I felt it was just very boring, and not creamy like the other matchas offered by ippodo, I would say go for Hatsu or Ikuyo!

Perfect for a novice
I typically don't prefer matcha, but needed a powder to make an ice cream. This was perfect! As I created the ice cream base, the floral and sweet notes of this tea stirred up, and then came the warm earth notes. Not too bitter or earthy for a matcha novice like me. Delicious!

Amazing, thousandth time purchasing!
I have no idea how many times I’ve purchased this. It’s wonderful, and I’ll never use any matcha other than those made by Ippodo!

I loved the matcha it tasted very good but the matcha wasn’t sealed very well and it spilt over my counter table but other than that it was great! There was rich umami and a slight astringency I rate it a 8/10 for baking and 9.5/10 overall.
