Wakaki has a refreshing character and ranks among our light blends. Prepared as usucha, this tea a good choice for people who enjoy matcha with a short aftertaste, soft fragrance, noticeable astringency, and a hint of sweetness. Its astringency gives matcha lattes a little bite and a crisp character. It also works well for baked goods given its nice green color.

might be my new favorite!

I'm new to trying out different types of quality matcha and I learned that I actually like that bit of bitterness or as ippodo calls it "astringent" quality. This is perfect for that and cheaper than most of their other matcha while still being high quality! will probably buy again. in any case, i buy all my matcha from ippodo and love it :)

Great for everyday matcha lattes

I’ve tried the 50 dollar ippodo matcha the wakaki and hatsu, the 50 dollar one is the best but the wakaki is better for my budget. Hatsu has a bitter taste compared to the wakaki.

Excellent

I have been ordering Matcha from Ippodo Tea ever since my sister bought me its matcha product from Japan. I have tried different types of matcha from different price points whether it’s from Ippodo or other branda. By far, my personal favorite will be Wakaki. It is good for my son’s daily matcha latte intake to my weekly baking needs. I can taste the matcha flavor and the color of green is very vibrant for baking products. Highly recommend this matcha product.
