An original Ippodo creation, Uji-Shimizu is a matcha-based beverage developed in 1935. It combines matcha powder and sugar to provide an easy to prepare, easy to drink tea for those who prefer their matcha a bit sweeter.
Simply put about 1.5 tbsp. of Uji-Shimizu in a cup or mug. Add water hot or cold and mix with a spoon. It's as simple as that! It tastes great any season, anytime.

I tried this matcha when I visited tokyo several years ago and have been waiting for it to finally be available in the US due to shipping cost. This is the best matcha I've had and it's already blended with sugar that's not too sweet and not too bitter. Perfect for blending with ice, or just trying in hot water.

I love this product and use it to make cafe-style matcha lattes. It's sweet but not overwhelmingly so--if I were ordering this at a boba shop, I'd expect this to be at 50-75% sweet (depending on the shop). Sometimes I'll mix extra matcha in it (for more caffeine) but this product stands well on its own. I started off with the travel packets but loved it so much that I upgraded to the bag. Highly recommend, especially for matcha newbies who might not be used to the taste of unsweetened matcha yet.

The sugar in this product is very finely powdered in order to mix well with the matcha, I suppose, so the drink can end up being too sweet depending on the table spoon used. Nevertheless, this is easily adjustable.
It's very practical for matcha-lattes because there is no need to strain the matcha powder; it dissolves very well without forming clumps. It is great in fruit drinks as well.
