The Coziest Tea for Fall
With fall comes chilly, windy days and earlier sunsets. The season makes us want to spend weekends in a big comfy chair with a blanket and a good book. And, on the side, a cozy mug of tea, brewed piping hot.
For peaceful fall afternoons, we think Hojicha is one of the best cozy companions. Its roasted fragrance when brewed piping hot makes it a mug of pure comfort.
What Is Hojicha?
Hojicha is a classic Japanese green tea with a remarkable roasted character. At our headquarters in Kyoto where we roast our own hojicha, we first start with base material bancha green tea. Then, we roast these green leaves until they take on a caramelly fragrance like peanut butter cookies.
It's a roasted fragrance with parallels to a medium-roast coffee, though with hojicha the flavor is light, smooth, and easy-to-sip, cup-after-cup.
This classic version of hojicha is a blend of roasted leaves and a few stems for a balanced taste.
Boiling hot water brings out Hojicha’s amazing aroma.
Perfect for Fall Lattes
Hojicha's toasty character holds up beautifully to your favorite dairy or non-dairy milk. Swap it for your milk tea or latte, and see if it doesn't become your new favorite.
