New Harvest Matcha 2022 - 20g
This unique release is an energetic, aromatic, and refreshing matcha perfect for enjoying in summer.
Koicha: 4 g (2 tsp.)
Typically, matcha is made from leaves that have been rested for a period of many months. The resting process develops and matures the leaves, producing a complex and relaxed character.
Our New Harvest Matcha, on the other hand, is a unique release. It was made by grinding the new tea leaves harvested this year, 2022. These just-harvested leaves give this matcha a fresh and energetic character that stands out in our selection.
New Harvest Matcha has a unique character with nuances that change every year, depending on the climate and other growing conditions in the tea fields. It is high-quality matcha that is interesting to compare with our rich category blends from the year-round selection.
This year’s New Harvest Matcha release is vividly fragrant. Its character is lively, but round; bright, but full-bodied. The aftertaste is playful and almost fruity.
To match its energy, we suggest preparing it as iced matcha. The ice will cool down the matcha’s feistiness and add a refreshing character to your drink. Perfect for drinking throughout the heat of summer.
As standard usucha, this tea has a bright aroma and a refreshing character. Its vivid color is also stunning in a latte, paired with your milk of choice. We recommend koicha only for matcha fans, as with this method, New Harvest Matcha is bracing and full of young energy.

This was my second order of the New Harvest. It has become a favorite in my pantry and I cannot wait to enjoy it. As always, Ippodo's shipping and customer service were excellent.
I could drink this all day, it’s absolutely divine. It is crisp and fresh with a delicate sweetness. Stocking up on this one!
Bright, vibrant matcha with a lovely finish. Great as iced matcha (I make it as koicha, and drop in one or two ice cubes). Another reviewer mentioned that it has a silky/creamy texture, and it really does! Pairs well with fresh fruit or a fruit-based sweet.
I'm new to matcha, so my vocab and tastebuds may not be as refined as others. Anyhow, my wife and I have morning matcha dates (prepared as usucha). We find the New Harvest matcha to be very refreshing, bright, light, less bitter, and less rounded than the Sayaka. Due to these characteristics, this matcha is perfect for our hot summer morning matcha dates!
